About me...

I rediscovered my love for pottery in 2020 after attending some local workshops. The raw, tactile nature of clay immediately resonated with me. There is something deeply fulfilling about transforming a soft and malleable material into a refined, lasting piece of work. An intuitive, physical, and wonderfully messy process that connects creativity with craftsmanship, I absolutely love it.

Since then, I have immersed myself in pottery, gradually building a home studio in Camborne. Creativity has always been an essential part of my life, influenced by my family’s artistic roots and my lifelong passion for making - whether through crafting, baking, or other artistic pursuits. After years of dedicating myself to motherhood and running a business with my husband, pottery has become a restorative journey for me. Rekindling my artistic identity and giving some balance to my world.

My work is diverse, reflecting my love for variety and exploration. The magic of ceramics lies in its blend of function and beauty. Pottery’s endless possibilities make it an exciting, evolving journey. I look forward to deepening my knowledge, refining my skills, and creating work that brings joy and holds meaning for others.

I work in a range of materials and techniques. Ceramics is a constant learning process, I love to experiment with construction methods, decorative techniques and glaze making.

My cat range is hand built earthenware clay, using coloured slip to colour and sgraffito illustration to give their feline design. These were born of my life long love of cats (I love lots of animals, but the cats came first!) and have grown in popularity. I like the feedback I get at fairs selling these, they always make people smile.

The more expressive work is also earthenware with slip and oxide decoration. I really enjoy working on these pieces, I layer on colour and pattern using various printing techniques. I like scratching marks and washing oxides or underglazes over the texture to give more interest and depth, each one is unique. As with all my work they are still useable or if preferred could be purely decorative.

My functional pottery is meant for every day use. I wheel throw these items using stoneware clay and glazes.
